Born into the Harper family, I only recently caught the genealogy bug. A few other relatives have been collecting their family trees for years so I'm just giving what they accomplished a new lens, hopefully in the process gathering useful documentation and data to add to the picture in meaningful ways. What I know now is mostly due to their hard work and stringent research, and as I build out my WikiTree I intend to flesh out the family information with both what's already been discovered, documented and sourced and discover new material to connect the bigger picture.
My WikiTree is far from comprehensive regarding the family - many lines yet to be entered. Most of the information I have already posted is there simply to "anchor" the facts I know but is not all that I have on the lines I'm researching right now. So I *partially* built out the tree from the knowns to these unknowns in hope that cousins who suspect they are related to those unknowns would have the opportunity to reach out and share their knowns - I will share whatever I have to help make the data trail more complete.
That said, I have discovered the joy of triangulating using Gedmatch.com and have found several promising contacts who I hope will be able to help one another find those clues for the brick walls in our family.
We need more information particularly about a few relatives, among these "brick walls" are Perry Lincoln Varner (Varner-1561), Charity Elizabeth Brewer Kimbell and Charity's spouse Basil (Bazzil, variations) Kimbell, (not-yet-listed, possible parents of Sarah Elizabeth Wallis (Wallis-3128). Charity Elizabeth Brewer may also be the connection to a small amount of Native American DNA that we've always suspected from a family legend about having a Cherokee grandmother somewhere in the line and that DNA now supports (albeit 5 or more generations back). We also suspect that ancestors of the paternal Harper-Morgan lines and maternal Burt-Stice lines crossed paths somewhere earlier in time, probably 3-5 generations back, resulting in some DNA links that point to both lines - but haven't figured out where yet, so those family lines haven't been extended back with "iffy" ancestors.

Thank you for self-certifying for the Pre-1700 badge! Participation in a Pre-1700 Project is strongly encouraged for those wishing to edit Pre-1700 profiles. Collaboration is essential because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants.
It looks like the United States Project would be a good fit with the profiles you entered. Adding the tag United_States will help you get updates about activity for that project.
Do you have any questions? Let me know. I'm happy to help! :-)
