Lena immigrated to the United States with her family at age 8. The family originated in Lansheide, Schleswig-Holstein, departed from Hamburg on 24 May 1883 aboard the "Polaria", and arrived in New York, New York on 13 Jun 1883. Steerage passengers traveling were: Hans 51, Gesche 46, Maria 18, Gesche 17, Peter 14, Anna 9, Lena 8, Heinrich 4, and Emma 6 months.[2]
Lena married Lewis Homire (1867-1946) on 2 Mar 1894 in Vinton, Iowa.[1][3] They had three children:[1]
Clara, b. 18 Dec 1900, m. Harry Andresen, 4 ch.;
Rudolph (twin), b. 19 Nov 1903, d. 3 Aug 1977, m. Elfreda Jacobs, 3 ch.;
1940 • Keystone, Benton, Iowa, USA - Homire household: Louie 73 and Lena 66.[12]
