Greetings Kirby Wikitree-er,

You listed a "Family Bible" as a source for John/Johann Brendel-166. Would you be willing to post an image of the Bible record on WikiTree or at least quote the text or describe the exact item that is listed in the Bible: marriage? birth? death?

Thanks so much. Looks like we'll have to make a decision about the spelling of the name in our merging processes. We've got Brindle, Brendle, and Brendel.

Thanks, EM

I apologize but that must have been a mistake when I uploaded my ged.com file. I do not have a family bible record for this person.

Oh I'm notorious for going in, changing, and adding sources. I'm the one who kept removing James T (Lettie's gf) at FST as the son of Levi of Butts County. Twice!! I can prove he's not. if he's related to the Levi in Morgan Co. then we might have a clue to his parents. And if we can id who the son David Sutton is named for, I think we might hit paydirt. I'm not related directly to James T. I'm a Jester, 'nuff said. I know of at least 3 or 4 others who are. And I've worked with them in the 90s. And just to let you know my passion for the Jesters, I nearly went ballistic when I saw at another site they had Thomas as Levi Thomas, along with his brother Levi.

HI Renee, thank you so much for you prompt attention to Letty. I've removed myself as PM but left on the Trust list. A word of caution. We have to use real sources here, you can say this person is the same as person on X site, like you have the FSTID. But you cannot use the FS Tree as the source. And be careful using FSTIDs because someone can come along and merge profiles there, and the ID is no longer valid. Here, the number on your Letty even tho merged will redirect to the lower number. Which is why we merge into the lower numbers. I prefer using FS for sources, actually you only need the citation, but I like adding the household members so we can note changes in the family.

At birth, my first name was Vicki, which I later dropped legally.

Hi Renee,

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!

Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working within the projects which coordinate them is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.

Use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find one which best fits your research focus, whether time period, location, or special event. Read the goals and tasks of the project and join if it is a good fit.

Let me know if you have trouble finding projects which fit your focus. Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page.

PS To find reliable sources for your profiles, go to the Family Tree & Tools tab; select Genealogy Research and scroll down near the bottom of that list and select Research with RootsSearch. There are over 20 websites to access from there.

Hi Renee

You have been a member about a week. How is it going so far. Was the first page of the How-Tos helpful or did it leave you with questions?

When you click the green tags on your profile page, you can see if others follow that tag. Add locations, Country, County or town the more tags you add the more links to community & research options. You can find more information here: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Tags.

If links don't work in emails, check the comments on your profile, links will work from there.

Any questions please ask in the comment of my page or send a private message.

Welcome Renee

Since you confirmed as a full member I am happy to welcome you to the WikiTree community! To help save you time, energy and frustration, please start with our New Member How-To pages.

Click the green Tag on your profile page, you'll see others following the same things you are researching. The more Tags you add that include locations, periods of history or other genealogical interests, the more links to the community research options.

Please ask if you have any questions as I am always happy to help!

Karen ~ WikiTree Greeter

PS If you ever get a "Page Not Found" error when you click a link in a WikiTree email, you can usually find a functioning link in the public comments section of your profile page.
