James was born about 1658 in Marshfield, Plymouth to Robert Latham and Susanna Winslow.[1]
There was a compaint filed against Benjamin Leach ,for removing a large quantity of boards from his sawmill, against John Hayward it was heard in court Sept 18 Plymouth MA. Mr Leach stated he was given permission to transport the boards from the sawmill. Mr Latham stated he did give permission to Mr. Leach to pick up the boards. Charges were dismissed.[2]
Marriage
He married Deliverance Alger in about 1691 in Bridgewater.[3][4][5]
Death
James Latham died before 6 Feb 1738, when his son, Joseph, was appointed adminster of his estate. [6][7][8]
Probate
His inventory was taken on 8 February 1738/39 in Bridgewater. His widow Deliverance received some necessary utensils from the estate.[9]
In 1746, an account of his estate was recorded.[10]
In 1750, the remainder of his estate was divided between his daughters, viz., Ann Wade, Susanna Harden, and Betty John[son] as his sons, Thomas Latham and Joseph Latham had received their share by deed of gift during James' lifetime.[11]
Burial
James is buried at Old Graveyard, East Bridgewater, Plymouth, Massachusetts.[12]
