Hello, my name is Deborah Kay "Debbie" Lentz Kelso. I was born on February 21, 1956 in Hugo Oklahoma. My parents were Howard Lewis Lentz and Drunell Iva Birchfield Lentz. I have one older sister, her name is Lynda Jane Lentz Staton.
I attend Hugo Public Schools grads 1-12. After graduating high school I attend college at Southeaster Oklahoma State University in Durant, Oklahoma. I graudated in December of 1977 with a teaching degree/certification in Health and Physical Education and a minor in Business. Once I graduated I attended the spring semester in 1978 and excepted my first teaching/coaching job in Jefferson Texas. I lived in Jefferson, Texas until I married my husband Jeffrey Lynn Kelso on the 9th of June 1979 in Hugo, Oklahoma. We moved to Carrizo Springs, Texas to teach and coach at Carrizo Springs High School. We worked in Carrizo Springs until May of 1985 when we moved to San Antonio, Texas to begin working in the Northside Independent School District. After moving to San Antonio we had two children Cody Ryan Kelso and Courtney Michelle Kelso.
I was given a 23nme DNA kit for a Christmas present. It was something I had been wanting to do to proof a point that I was not of Native American decent. I was correct. But, I was very surprised at my ancestry once the test results came back. My heritage had always been told to me to be German and French. We partly true, but the Irish and English heavily outweighed the German and French.
I had helped my mother research both sides of my families ancestry and also my father-in-law research the Kelso family. I do have a lot of information but have also found that their are several Lentz family trees that have different information. I am in search of the correct lineage.
I do thank those before me that have researched the families that I belong to it really makes my job easier, but difficult at the same time if the information is not correct.

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!
Pre-1700 ancestors can be shared by many descendants, so collaboration is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.
I would like to suggest that the US Southern Colonies Project could fit your current research focus. If not, please review the Pre-1700 Projects list to find other possibilities.
Review the project page to learn about resources and guidelines as well as how to collaborate with the project members. Please take your time. Accuracy is so much more important than speed on WikiTree. And please add locations, dates, and at least one reliable source to each profile, particularly any pre-1700s profile, before you leave it. (See: Pre-1700 Reliable Sources).
