Biography
I have been involved in genealogy ever since I became pregnant with my first son over 20 years ago. It started with a small family tree that I planned to put up on his wall in the nursery. It grew from there once I learned about the software and websites available to me. I ended up pulling my mother into it at some point and we've been doing it together ever since. Neither of us know much about our fathers families, where they came from etc so that has been our main focus.
I enjoy looking at any records I can get my hands on and searching cemeteries for lost family members. My mother enjoys searching for overseas connections. We both live in Texas, me in the South & her in the North.
When I'm not doing that I enjoy working on dollhouses and miniatures, and I like to tinker with computers and gadgets.
While being born in north Texas I've spent most of my life on the Gulf Coast just west of Galveston. I was adopted early on by my stepfather and it is his family (Corporon) that brought us south. I've been married to a great man (Figueroa) for over 20 years and have 2 mostly grown sons.
My husband and I like to spend our time around the house and in our yard doing what we can to make it the best place to hang out, planting flowers, fruit trees, landscaping etc. We occasionally go fishing at the beach. It is our hope to some day soon buy an RV because we like to travel. So far we've been to Las Vegas, Oklahoma, Memphis, NYC, DC, Virginia, New Orleans, San Antonio, Florida for Disney World and to see a shuttle launch! My wish is to visit the east coast during fall and my husband wants to see the midwest - he's a history/western buff!

The project account has a handy set of links on it... I use it most to connect to the Google Group. It's also listed in Category:Louisiana Families Project along with other project members who have added the category to their profile (encouraged, but not a requirement).
Please stop by the project page - I've added your name to the members listed there, if you'd like to add to it. If not, you or I can delete it next week or so.
