Abraham Stout, son of John and Rachel Merrill Stout, born 1735, died 1777 at the age of forty-two from a fatal illness he was stricken with early in the Revolutionary War. He fought with Solomon, his eldest son, in the Battle of White Plains who was killed in that battle. Nathan Stout, the author of "The History of the Stout Family" was Abraham's brother and the uncle of his children. Ege supports the lineage in his work on pages 261 and 262.
