I've added citations for MF5-Cooke and Torrey, including their listed sources. At a quick glance the surname probably should be Tomson. There's no birth or baptism found, and the marriage record is also not extant. Her father's will, "John Tomson" names daughter Mary Tabor. Both MF5 and Torrey use the spelling Tomson as well.
If one of the pm's is interested in developing this profile further, let me know and I can supply more source detail (and help locating them) if needed.
Well Anne B, I'm reading North America, Family Histories, 1500-2000
T
Thompson
A Genealogy of Descendants of John Thompson of Plymouth Massachusetts, page 28-31 and it's spelled 3 different ways, Thompson, Thomson and Tomson. Which is correct way I think either author of the book, spelled it different or who ever. So I would guess keeping it each way, will still be OK.
There are many mistakes on this family. Mary "Tomson" not Thompson, is my 8th great-grandmother. There are duplicates for Joseph Taber-55 and Joseph Taber-1294, Joseph was married 2 times. There is also a son name Phillip, no page made yet, he is my 7th GGF and I have his sources, I would like to add him, I'm not approved for Mayflower. And possibly a few names not children. Such as Thomas and Ebenezer which Thomas Taber would be Ester Cooke son and her daughter Esther Taber, not Mary's. I'm not sure where Ebenezer came from, I don't see on any source a son named Ebenezer. I would like to correct and add photos of sources from my books and public records. I sent message to profile manager for Ebenezer Tabor-699. ~Terralea Collins
I agree the surname should probably be Tomson. It was Tomson and a merge six years ago changed it. Would one of the managers change it, please.
I've added a list of children from the Mayflower approved Cooke book. I removed Thomas who didn't belong, would you propose a merge with the correct Thomas. I've left Ebenezer for the moment, left a comment on the profile. He doesn't belong. Go ahead and propose a merge for the two Josephs and add Philip.
Thank you Ann, my sources are from my books that are about my families genealogy, are also on Ancestry website maybe others, they are old and I do own them. I think the policy is that I have to own them. I'm a more visual person, so I like to see picture of the source more then just read that there is one, so there is no question about it. I only do my own family but I read and compare to the books and sources to be sure. I will propose a merge of the 2 Thomas's and add Philip's page.
I see you started a draft I guess to change the last name to Tomson, I don't know how to do that either unless starting a whole new page for her, then merging them with correct name.
Tomson-13 and Tomson-125 appear to represent the same person because: I have been adopting orphan profiles in the Taber family tree and merging them. Theses appear to be the same person. Thank you.
