The admin folks took a look at the two profiles for your father. The problem is that he has a GEDCOM that he has not finished the GEDCompare process on. One of the leaders of the Greeters group has sent him a message letting him know. That is what is causing the error message you are receiving and nothing can be done with the merge until he finishes his GEDCOM.

Do you have any hints that your line of Birds were ever living in either Oneida NY or came from Hartford CT area? in the EARLY 1800's ? My family started heading west in late 1700's/early 1800's from Farmington near Hartford NY to Oneida and then in the early to mid 1800's to both Michigan or Wisconsin. Locations are so telling once you get back into the 1700's ! The furthest I've gotten my line is to my 9th G Grandfather Thomas who is in Farmington CT by 1634 (12 years after the Mayflower). What locations do you have?

I actually grew up near Herkimer NY and have from Alexander Bird https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Bird-9706. I just got onto this website, so I'm still adding info and cleaning up profiles.
There are many Bird's in the Cooperstown area and I have most info on Ancestry, but I just put my account on pause bc their prices are ridiculous and I feel like work is being held at ransom. I don't have access to documents, because I put my account on hold. I'd be happy to look up info or help any way I can, just remember, I'm still kinda new at this.

P.S. To find reliable sources for your profiles, go to the Family Tree & Tools tab; select Genealogy Research and scroll down near the bottom of that list and select Research with RootsSearch. There are over 20 websites to access from there.

One quick way to find the profiles you adopted is by searching your Contributions List for the word "adopted" and "manager." You can find a quick link to your Contributions List in the My WikiTree dropdown menu.
