When you add a child, it has to be linked to its father and ALSO linked to its mother.  Otherwise, it appears as a half-brother or half-sister.

Except — when a child has no known father, several siblings  had the same father, and another child has no known father, the first and last children show as full siblings to each other instead of half siblings, as they do to the children with a father.
