Hi Michael,

Your tree will not automatically populate from your uploaded GEDCOM. You must now do what is called "GEDCOMpare" where you review each person in your GEDCOM to see if there are any matches already on WikiTree. Once you have reviewed every individual and either accepted or rejected possible matches, you will get "add" buttons for the people in your GEDCOM. You will then add each person individually. You will need to "clean up" the profile and perhaps reformat your sources for each as you go.

Here's a help page you can review...GEDCOMpare...which may help.

Since you must compare each record in the Gedcom BEFORE anything is added to Wikitree, the recommendation is to only have a Gedcom with less than 50 records to learn the process.

Hi Michael,

you cannot upload your ancestry tree. You must start with yourself and create a profile. After that you can start creating profiles of your ancestors person by person.

See here https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Person_Profile

You can compare them with your GEDCOM and import the relevant datas for a profile after you have created one.

More information see here and on the following GEDCOM help pages https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:GEDCOM
