The third annual Connect-a-Thon is coming up soon! The goal of our marathon event: decrease the number of profiles that are not connected to our big tree by adding relatives to existing profiles [more participation info].

The event will start on Friday, July 23, at 8 AM (EDT) and run until Monday, July 26, at 8 AM (EDT).

Will you join us?

To register, just click the ANSWER button and say "Sign me up!" or whatever and include a few words about your location and/or genealogical interests. This will help us assign you to a team. If you already know what team you'd like to be on, say that. The current teams are listed here.

What is the last date for registration?

Tomorrow, Wednesday 21 July 2021 at midnight EDT, is the last day to register to have your contributions counted for a team and be eligible for the t-shirt drawings. Please join us!

Just curious. Did we actually start at 7:00 a.m. Eastern rather than 8:00? Still a quarter till 8:00 and there are already almost 1,450 points on the scoreboard.

This particular "connecting" does not mean Connecting to the tree, although it's great when that happens.

It's all about attaching profiles to existing profiles.   So, if you wait until the starting day to create your profile #1, it won't count.  But every parent, child, or spouse you attach to it, will count. 

(It might be better called an attach-a-thon, but then you can't say aat as a word the way you can the CAT, the SAT, the CoAT, and the SCAT.    (When the cat sat on the coat, it was  told to scat!))
