Vanished photo

Question

The "primary photo" from my grandfather's profile has vanished (since appr. 2 weeks). It was an excerpt from a bigger photo which is still attached to the profile, yet uploaded separately. When I try to upload it again, I get a message that this cannot be done, suggesting it could be too big (35 kB?? I've uploaded files as big as 327 kB to the same profile).

So, 2 questions:

1. What happened?
2. How can I fix it?

The change log says you uploaded the now deleted image in 2020 ---  14 Aug 2020-- 04:53: Peter van Munster uploaded [deleted] for Petrus Johannes Richardus van Munster (1879-1961).

IF for any reason you (or anyone on the Trusted List for that profile) removed all profiles from the image, the image goes to red-lock and is removed from the system in a couple of weeks or so.

Your solution would be to ensure the crop of the larger image isn't any wider than 500 pixels (and preferably around that same dimension in height) - which should ensure the filesize is plenty small enough to upload.

I certainly did not change anything about that deleted picture and there's only one other person on the Trusted List. I'll have a serious talk with them .

Anyway, spurred on by your enthusiasm, I tried uploading again and after fiddling around with all the messages, it worked.Grandpa's pic is back where it belongs.

Don't make it too serious.  The removal/deletion might have been accidental.  (Or from not understanding how images work.)

Also - the deleted image (Van_Munster-12-1.jpg) is still in the system, so could be restored by someone with access to it.  On your Grandpa's profile it says 

This photo is from my personal collection  [photo deleted]

It would mean there'd be two of the image on the profile, so it might be better to let the system remove it.
