Join Team Virginia for the April 2022 Connect-a-Thon

Hello WikiTreers! 

We are coming up on the second of three Connect-a-Thons we will have for the year 2022. Our mission in the Connect-a-Thon is to bring the world closer together by connecting more people on our big tree. For 72 hours we add missing relatives to existing profiles.

Team Virginia covers Kentucky, Virginia, and West Virginia but you are welcome to join us and work on profiles from any location. We are a lively, chatty team and we like to have fun with it! Chat will be in the WikiTree Discord server, in the Team Virginia channel. Sandy and I will be your captains. Please let us know if you have any questions!!

Registration is open now so be sure to add your answer to that post in the G2G. Put any questions or comments you have below.

Not sure where to post something like this, but here it goes.   This is Sunday, Apr 14 in the middle of the Connect-a-Thon.  I started with people from my own tree and look how far I travelled.  I've just spent the morning with a family from Blount County, Tn..  Looks like they lived there until after the Civil War.  Then, wow...the main branch moved to Washington State.  From there, the kids ended up in Idaho, Texas, Oklahoma, Iowa..and probably a couple states I'm forgetting.  And, they went several towns and counties in each state..  I'm in awe!!  These are the people who expanded our nation.  ..and that's one small family.

I 'met' a man yesterday who won a Purple Heart from the Death March in Bataan in WWII, and a 20-yr-old who died in Belgium.  And I can't even remember how many who fought in WWI and WWII that I ran across.

So, I'm taking a break here to remember them.

I would like to join Team Virginia. I have Rev. War ancestors and pioneers in my tree. From Virginia to Kentucky and on & on. One ancestor was killed in Lord Dunmore's War in 1774.

I posted earlier today on the G2G, requesting to join team Virginia. How will I know that I have been added to that team? Haven't seen anything since my earlier posts at G2G and here.
