Following Amy Johnson Crow's 52 Weeks of Ancestors themes, the US Black Heritage Project will be featuring and working on two of our notables each week who fit that theme.

Captain Robert Bernard Tresville Jr. (cc7=107) was a West Point graduate and one of the legendary Tuskegee Airmen. He served as a Commanding Officer of the 100th Fighter Squadron in Italy during WWII. After several successful missions, he was deemed missing in action after his plane crashed into the ocean in 1944.

Medgar Wiley Evers (cc7=332) was an American war veteran, a civil rights activist, and the NAACP's first field secretary in Mississippi. He was assassinated in 1963 by a white supremacist.

During this week you can help us with any of the following?

  • Both of these gentlemen are connected and are on the list to be checked for Platinum Profile status!
  • You can help by checking that their attached family who should have the {{African-American Sticker}} have it on their profiles.
  • You can also help by checking the connection between each gentleman and yourself to see if the connection point is sourced and accurate.
  • Add additional categories and stickers that might apply to both profiles.
  • Increase their cc7 by adding more family to any of the first 6 degrees.
