Need help reading handwriting in Sicilian marriage record

How young could a girl in nineteenth Sicily get married? I'm sure this Promise of Marriage record says that the bride, Antonina Scozzaro was thirteen (tredici). The marriage record, next to it says they were married shortly after. I wondered if I'm reading it correctly. The handwriting is difficult to read. My gratitude and respect to anyone who can work this out! I haven't added her, yet, and so don't have a WikiTree ID for her.

I think you are correct - 13. I made a page to help decipher Italian records and I don't see anything else, as far as numerals go, that is even close. https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Extracting_Information_from_Italian_Records
Thank you so much, Lucy, both for your answer and for the wonderful page! I've bookmarked it and I'm sure I'll use it often!

It is 13. From the marriage processetti (images 349-360 starting here) you can see on her birth record she was born 4 Mar 1841 (original here).

In the Kingdom of Two Sicilies (1816-1861), a male had to be at least 14 and a female at  least 12 to marry. Males under 25 and females under 21 also needed parental consent. (Cod. Leggi Civ., Lib I - Delle Persone -, Tit V, Cap I, Art 152, 163)

Also, be sure to check out the many resources of the WikiTree Italy project here - including links to translation aids. And consider joining the Italy Project!

This is all so helpful! I have been trying to find her birth record and you pointed me right to it. I appreciate, too, your explanation of the age requirements. Grazie mille, Frank!

No problem, here's Andrea btw: https://antenati.cultura.gov.it/ark:/12657/an_ua418787/02yvvoy

And here's a link to the marriage promessa in Antenati - it's preferable to have open links on WikiTree as opposed to paywalled ones: https://antenati.cultura.gov.it/ark:/12657/an_ua418671/57KvPoz

You can use the Antenati citer to create nice WikiTree source citations.

Thank you! This is so useful!
