Donald Trump-66 vs. Hilary (Rodham-1) Clinton? Hilary is connected to the tree (and myself and AJ) but Donald is not.

Perhaps add a couple more presidential candidates into the mix. Bernie Sanders, Ted Cruz, Jeb Bush-705, Chris Christie etc.

For winter in the northern hemisphere, how about putting an ice machine up against a snow machine? Frank Zamboni, who invented the eponymous machine that smooths the surfaces of ice rinks, vs. Joseph-Armand Bombardier (no WikiTree profile yet, apparently), inventor of the snowmobile.

I'm not surprised that Bombardier's family is here. I saw a lot of Bombardiers who looked like they might be related.

So for a snow machine, how about James Curran, inventor of the chairlift?

The stories of all of these inventions are interesting ones -- and modern winter sports would not exist in their present form without the inventions of clever people like Zamboni and Curran.

Putting politicians into combat is tempting (really tempting if it were literal) but featuring the winner would look partisan.

The ideal Star Trek figure to work out his family tree would be Commander William Riker, aka Jonathan Frakes. His profile has not yet been created and it would be perfect if we had him established and his family line added to the global tree.

And Leonard Nimoy is a real challenge. His Russian Jewish ancestry makes it challenging to find a connection - I know that several have already tried a couple of times to find it, and so far - zip. If you pick him, be prepared for a difficult uphill battle.

Star Trek will have its 50th anniversary later this year. The original series had its premiere on September 8th, 1966.
It appears there's some hoopla planned for the occasion.

Nat King Cole and his daughter Natalie Cole who just passed away would connect more African Americans.

Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio would connect more Cuban Americans, also Jeb Bush's wife is Hispanic.

Guy Lombardo and Dick Clark would connect our New Year's Eve musicians.

Or how about some stars from the Lawrence Welk show? Several are dead. Norma Zimmer, Jimmy Rodgers,  and several others.

I heard on TV tonight that Ted Cruz was actually born in Canada and is running on his dual citizenship passport. So he would connect us to Canadians.
