Biography

Anna Marie Blankenbuehler was reportedly born on 5 May 1687 in Neuenburg, Baden (now Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany).

She was baptized May 15, 1687 in Neurenburg, Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald, Baden-Wuerttenburg, Germany at the Lutheran Church in that location. Sponsors were Gottfried Fischer, Anna Catharina Schaiblin, Maria Elisabetha Kuntz.

Anna Maria married Johannes Thomas. " On 18 November 1711, after the proclamation of the wedding, were married Johannes THOMA, the legitimate son of Albrecht THOMA citizen here, with the maiden Anna Maria, the legitimate daughter of Hanss THOMA Blancknbigner former citizen and stonemason here."

Children:

  1. Hans Wendell (John) Thomas, b. 17 Apr 1712, Neuenburg, Germany. On 17 April 1712 there was born and baptized on the same day the baby Hanss Wendel THOMA, The parents were Johann THOMA and Anna Maria (who we know was born Blankenbühler.) The sponsors at this baptism were Hanss Wendel Neideck of Oberöwisheim, and Maria Eleonora the wife of Hanss Jerg Schaiblin.
  2. Ursula Thomas b. 6 November 1714-8 November 1814. The first baptism occurs on a sad note. Joh. THOMA and Anna Maria were the parents of Ursula who was born on 8 November 1714, baptized on 8 November 1714, and died on 8 November 1714. [This death record is made in the baptismal record, a typical thing to do.
  3. Anna Magdalena Thomas, b. 24 Nov 1715, Neuenbürg, Baden, Germany.Johannes THOMA and Anna Maria brought Anna Magdalena born 24 November 1715 with Hanss Wendel Neideck of Oberöwisheim, and Martha Schaiblin (in) single as sponsors.
  4. Anne Margaret Thomas, b. Abt 1718
  5. Michael Thomas, b. Abt 1720, Culpeper County, Virginia

Barbara then married Wolfgang Kaifer about 1721 in Virginia.

Children:

  1. Elizabeth Käfer, b. Abt 1723, Spotsylvania County, Virginia
  2. Margaret Käfer, b. Abt 1724, Spotsylvania County, Virginia
  3. Barbara Käfer, b. Abt 1728, Spotsylvania County, Virginia
  4. Dorothea Käfer, b. 1730, Spotsylvania County, Virginia, d. 1768, Culpeper County, Virginia
  5. Mary Käfer, b. Abt 1732, Spotsylvania County, Virginia d. Bef 1808, Madison County, Virginia[1]

She is presumed to have died before Wolfgang Kaifer's will of 28 December, 1762 because she was not named in the will.
