George Griggs and Alice Sibthorpe married 11 May 1616

  • Thomas, son of George Griggs, bp. 2 Aug 1618
  • William, son of George Griggs, bp. 27 Feb. 1619/20
  • Elizabeth, dtr of George Griggs, 10 March 1623/4
  • James sonne of George Griggs bp Dec. 16 1632 {Bishops Transcripts of Olney}
  • Children Marie and Ann are named in the will of maternal grandmother Elizabeth Edge (or Hedge), widow of Olney.

Elizabeth Edge, widow of Olney and mother of Alice Sibthorpe: her Will dtd 26 Jan 1629/30, proved 20 Dec 1633. Mentions various Sibthorpe children, and children of son in law, George Griggs of Olney and her dtr Alice ie: Thomas, William, Elizabeth, Marie and Ann (so Ann born before this will). Elizabeth Edge was buried at Lavendon, Bucks co. England 26 Oct 1633.

Occupation: Millwright. We know this because of the tools and accoutrements left in his inventory.

Will: The Last will & Testament of George Griggs of Boston this 4th of ye 5th moneth 1655... my Loveing wife Alice Griggs my sole Executrix ... and give unto her my house & ground about it with all ye appurces & ye two accres of Land at Long Island ... my household stuff dureing ye time of her naturall life." After her death the above is to go to son James Griggs. James was to pay his sisters: £5 to Anne Joanes, and 40s to Mary Brookes, Sarah King £10. George also gave James a feather bed and it's accoutrements and his tools. Presented in Court 3 Aug 1660.[2][3] His Inventory was taken the 7th of the 5th month 1660.[4]

Read the information at John Griggs-129 or Martha Griggs-411. It is obvious that their son George died young. Hearing no objections, I will disconnect him.
