Biography

Pierre Thibodeau was born about 1718 in Acadie, possibly in Pisiguit, a son of Philippe Thibodeau (c.1692 - c.1756) and Elisabeth Vincent (c.1697 - >1763).[1]

Pierre married Helene Gautrot, a daughter of François Gautrot and Marie Vincent, around 1741 in Acadie, according to the declarations of his repatriated relatives at Belle-Isle-en-Mer, France.[1]

Their known children were:

  1. Jean Pierre Thibodeau (c.1742 - )
  2. Marie-Josephe Thibodeaux (1747 - 1837)

He was deported to Massachusetts Bay Colony in 1755 or '56 during the Great Upheaval.

Pierre died on 24 July 1756 in Massachusetts Bay Colony, aged about 38. [2]

Please change this Acadian's surname to "Thibodeau", the preferred surname spelling for the Acadian Project. His father and any siblings and children may need to be changed as well. Thanks!
