Biography

Étienne LeBlanc was born in 1656 in Port-Royal, Acadie, Nouvelle-France. His parents were Daniel LeBlanc and Marie Françoise Gaudet. [1]

Possibly he left Acadie as a navigator and did not return.[2]

He was not in Acadie when the 1686 census was taken and some view that he died unmarried in Acadie before then.[3][4]

Research Notes

Stephe White does not give a death date. Placaide Gaudet says before 1686. No record in St. Anne's registers. He is not on the 1686 census, though all his brothers are listed near each other.

For what it's worth, L Lanctot claims Étienne became a sailor and left Acadia -"devient navigateur et quitte l'Acadie" [Familles Acadiennes,V2, p122.]

Leblanc-1136 and LeBlanc-75 appear to represent the same person because: Unsourced, unconnected profile can be safely merged; LeBlanc is preferred spelling
