lizabeth Lettice, the daughter of Thomas Lettice, if born about 1635, twenty years before her marriage, was probably born in England (the generally accepted place of her birth.) However the date of her fathers' arrival is not fixed but definitely by 1636, so if instead she were only 18 when married, she would have been born in Plymouth. There is no evidence to support birth of Jul 1636, in Lincolnshire, England, as is sometimes given. She and her two sisters were left five shillings apiece in the will of their father.
She married first William Shirtley/Shurtleff in Plymouth on 18 October 1655.[1] They had three children.
"Elizabeth Shurtliff, widow, married second Jacob Cook Sr., Nov. 18, 1669" in East Bridgewater, Massachusetts.[3] She and Jacob had two children:
"Elizabeth Cook, widow married Heugh COLE on 1 Jan. 1688/89," in Plymouth, Massachusetts.[4]
"Elizabeth the wife of Mr Hugh Cole decesed October the 31th:1693," in Swansea, Massachusetts.[5]
Elizabeth was buried with her husband in the churchyard at Swansea. It is now called Tyler Point Cemetery in Barrington, Rhode Island. This neck of land was set off from Swansea in 1718. [6][2]
