His father Richard Sr. died in 1627, leaving bequests to his wife and children, including son Richard, when he reaches age 24. His mother Susan was remarried to Henry Kimball in November, 1628. [1]
Richard Cutting, aged 11 (sic), was among the passengers in the ship Elizabeth, with his mother, step father and siblings, which left Ipswich England in April 30, 1634. [5] They settled at Watertown, Massachusetts. [1][2][6]
Richard was a wheelwright by trade but doubtless was also a farmer. [6] Not joining the church until much later in life, was likely why he was not chosen for offices by the townsmen. [1]
