Biography

Philip Jacob Zinn. [1][2] was born 25 May 1737 in Kederon, Der Pfaltz, Germany to John Frederick Zinn and Anna Sophia Schneider.

Immigration: Frederick, Sophia and baby Phillip Jacob, set sail on Ship Glascow from Rotterdam on 22 Jun 1738. They landed in Philadelphia on September 9th, 1738. when Phillip was 13 months old.

Marriage He married first Maria Elizabeth Barthmes in 1759.[3] Maria Elizabeth died in childbirth October 7, 1771. With small children to care for, Phillip married Anna Kinta Cunigunda Hoffmann just 6 months later on April 4, 1772.

In 1759 his occupation is "farmer." Phillip was naturalized 15 September 1761 and on 4 Feb 1763 his parents deeded/sold their farm to him on the condition that he care for them for the remainder of their lives. [3]

Listed in the 1790 Census residing in Dover Twp., York County, Pennsylvania.

Death Phillip Jacob died 4 May, 1809 in Dover Twp., York Co. He was buried 7 May 1809 at Strayer's (Salem) Lutheran Cemetery, Dover Twp., York County, Pennsylvania.[4]
