Biography

It was about 2002 when I first became interested in learning more about distant relatives and found some cousins online. That led to finding the 1887 Jackson Ledger that Patricia Hickin has so graciously posted here on WikiTree. That Ledger became the motivation for the Jackson web site that I maintained for 14 years until I turned over the "Hempstead" Jackson database to a younger cousin in 2017: Quilted Family Trees.

Most of my direct Jackson line and other Jackson lines I've researched are posted at https://www.werelate.org/wiki/Earliest_Known_Jackson_Ancestors. I am learning how to post this info on WikiTree. I'm so appreciative of all that Patricia Hickin and others have done to post our Jacksons! That's why I love a collaborative site! I don't have to do it all and I get acquainted with the many other folks in our line that participate in WikiTree.

I am interested in the Jackson Name study and will do what I can to add to it.

To Janie, A simple thank you in not enough to express my gratitude for all the help you have given me. You have without fail tried your best to answer my questions and there were many times I asked. You are an Angel and I thank you for everything you did. Every researcher needs someone like you. Edward Jackson

Hi Janie you and I have a gedmatch 7.7 MRCA . Im sure it has to be Jackson. That was my moms name and her father his father and so on.

I tried to compare kits on Gedmatch and it says your kit does not exist. Just to let you know. :)

Thanks for letting me know. I fixed the error so now it shows.

Something still in error with your Gedmatch kit. Today is still says that kit does not exist.

T077884 is correct not TO77884 - you need to updated your kit # here on wikitree

Your kit is with a T number 0, you have it as T with letter O. We do have a match.

Thank you Janie. I will look into it. At the moment I am trying to look into the Wilmhurst family in the USA. Somehow I am related to them. I am also fairly sure that Clarance Holt's wife Marion Brown (the mother of the eldest daughter Ellen) was a Vaughan, not a Brown, from my DNA results.

Wow can you wait/ I sent you my email address...But then looked at the link.

That is huge even for my email.

Do you think I can just attach the link to North Carolina and South Carolina For now until I can figure out how to break it down..

I will attach it.. Then you see if you can still read it..

??

Hi Janie,

Terry Wright requested that I answer your question. The categories for War of 1812 are here. Click on United States, War of 1812 and then you will see the category you want by state. Here is an example of using the category in the template. Click edit to see how this is done in the text box. The template has to go under the Biography heading.

Let me know if you need more help.

Thank You Janie, so much of my Roac history has been shared in various ways on different trees from the mid 1700s back it is a mystery to me. Welcome to Wikitree. Have fun.
