Biography

Maryje was born about 1663. She was the daughter of Dirck van der Vliet and Geertgen Gerrits. She passed away about 1721.

Maria married Andries Ariensz Onderdonk on 11 November 1683 in New York.[1]

Maria's son Hendrick Van Der Bildt was baptised on 10 April 1705 in Jamaica, Queens, New York, United States.[2]

Maria died in 1732 and was buried in Jamaica, Queens, New York, United States.[3]

Van Vliet-29 and Van der Vliet-50 appear to represent the same person because: This is the same woman. This will complete the connection between the parents and the spouse and children. No tree conflicts. Ignore the number sequence. We want van der Vliet-50 to be the surviving profile. Thanks!

Maritje "Maria" van der Vliet is daughter of Derrick Janse Vandervilet and Lyntie Aertse. But it is not clear if that Derrick is the same man as Dirck Janse VanderVliet, who married Grietje Gerretse.

Both men were born in about 1612, but it seems unlikely that they are the same man, because Grietje married in 1652 and had a son Jan in 1658, while Maria was born to Lyntie in 1653. So there appears to be too much overlap between the two lines.

But then again, it is possible that the 1652 marriage is wrong, too early. If Lyntje was a first wife who died after Maria's 1653 birth, then a more likely marriage for Grietje would be bewtween 1653 and 1657.
