Louis LeBlanc was the son of Joseph LeBlanc and Françoise Pothier.[1]
He was born Augst 21, 1850[1] in Tusket Wedge, Nova Scotia.[2][3]
He grew up in the family home located at 36 Surette Cross Road[2] in Tusket Wedge.[3]
He married Adelia A. Wanders September 6, 1886.[1]
Louis died on June 30, 1908 in Wedgeport and was buried in the parish cemetery.[4]

In 1908 residents petitioned the Provincial Government for town incorporation and on 16 May 1910, the Town of Wedgeport was officially incorporated. The communities currently known as Upper Wedgeport, Wedgeport, and Lower Wedgeport, became a single town, separate from the Municipality of Argyle.
