One of my great-grandfathers, Jacob Clark, was a POW at the old fort at St Augustine until 1783, having been captured by the British at the fall of Charleston, SC, during the Revolutionary War. Another great-grandfather, John Bonnell, was a Loyalist, and fled to Nova Scotia in 1784 a step ahead of the hangman, necessarily abandoning his young wife and three small children, one of whom was my 3rd great-grandfather. I am a retired State of Florida law enforcement officer, and my work experience serves me well while investigating family ties.
families--Andrews, Allens, Garnetts, Stevens, Paulitsch (Powledge), Keen/es, Bonnells, and several others. Until very recently (Ah! the computer), all of my sources have been "hard copy" originals or first-hand and family knowledge and I have to "dig" through 40 years of notes and cites to post them.

Thanks for helping with Wikitree
Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles! It is very important to read and understand the Help:Pre-1700 Profiles page. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines in the certification quiz.
Primary sources should always be added to pre-1700 profiles at the time they are created. If you don't have a source for a pre-1700 profile, it would be best to ask for help in the G2G forum before creating the profile.

I like the story on John Bonnell UEL's profile! Can you please help me find the source documents? I don't see him listed in the UELAC directory : https://uelac.ca/loyalist-directory/, and not sure where else to look.

I agree with you that Hannah Andrews' death date should be 1845. Do you have the Smith Family Record that you can share so that there will be a source to that effect? I would like to get these profiles merged as they are definitely the same person. Andrews-13037 and Andrews-4690 Thank you, Virginia (Ginny) Fields
Thanks for all your work on WikiTree. I noticed that you recently created a parent child relationship link between daughters Maria and Ursula and their father Paulus Schweighoffer. That's great.
We're looking for reliable sources to add to the various lists. Would any of your family records have come from repositories which would be good additions?
Thanks,
Debi

Welcome to the WikiTree family!
WikiTree is different because our goal is to have one profile per person, which means that members work together as a single collaborative team. The Honor Code is our guide to keep everything functioning smoothly as we work on one BIG tree.
The initial email from us has links you can use to get started. When you confirm your email address, you'll have an option to volunteer to add information to WikiTree, beginning with tags for your own profile. Tags are how we keep up with new information on surnames, locations, concepts, etc.
If you volunteer, a greeter will confirm your membership, and you'll be able to add new profiles!
Carole
P.S. I'm always happy to answer questions.
