Hello Jan,

During the winter, the Nordic Project performed check-ins, sent as a private message from your profile. You are one of those members who has not replied, and this is a last chance to get in touch and let me know if you like to continue as member in the Nordic Project.

Please answer this comment, and get in touch by sending me a private message. If we have not heard from you within a month you will be removed from the Nordic google group and your badge will be removed.

If you have not received any check-in emails, you might want to check that your email address for WikiTree is one you actually still use.

Thank you!

Hi Jan!

Thanks for self-certifying for the Pre-1700 badge! Collaboration with Pre-1700 Project members is essential for those wishing to edit Pre-1700 profiles. Collaboration is essential because those ancestors are usually shared by many descendants.

It looks like the Sweden Project would be a good fit based on your branch of WikiTree. Review the project page to learn about resources and guidelines as well as how to collaborate with the project members.

Do you have any questions? Let me know. I'm happy to help! :-)

Remember to cite reliable sources in pre-1700 profiles that you manage or edit. (See: Pre-1700 Reliable Sources).

Hi Laura!

Thanks for your message. I have tried to join the Swedish or Nordic projects but only to find the join thread closed. I guess I just have to wait until it opens up again.

Hi Jan,

You are welcome, and hopefully, it will not be much longer. They began a transition at the end of last year, they are moving the Sweden, Norway, and Denmark projects as sub-projects under the Nordic Project. Hopefully, they will have all of that sorted out soon. Keep your eye on G2G because that is where they will post a request for new project members, and it could be titled under any of the aforesaid. Most likely it will be the Nordic Project.

Hi! Are you interested in participating in this year's Spring Clean-a-thon on April 23? We would appreciate all the help we can get even if you only have a moment to clear a few errors. If you are interested you can sign up on the following link, let them know you want to be on Team Nordic Noir:

Hey Jan,

Thank you for joining us! I wanted to check in with you to see how things are going. How do you like WikiTree so far? Have the tips in the New Member How To Pages been helpful or have they left you with questions? Thanks for adding so many and well sources profiles already.

P.S. To find reliable sources for your profiles, go to the Family Tree & Tools tab; select Genealogy Research and scroll down near the bottom of that list and select Research with RootsSearch. There are over 20 websites to access from there.

Hi Jan

I see that you have uploaded a GEDCOM. The GEDCOM will not automatically populate your tree, it generates a GEDCOMpare report. The GEDCOMpare process guide has tips on how to use the data in your file most efficiently.

If you have questions about how WikiTree works, let me know. To contact me, log into WikiTree, and go to your profile. Use the Reply link below my comment to be sure that I will be notified. Welcome back Jan, and thank you for upgrading, 😊

I am very pleased to welcome you to the WikiTree family, your contributions will go a long way to joining the world together.

It is best to start with the New Member How-To pages, they will save you a lot of time and frustration.

I am here to answer any question you have, no matter how trivial you may think it is. There is no such thing as a silly question. Please add as much information as you can, it all helps to turn a “name” back into a person. I hope you enjoy the site as much as I do.

Happy tree climbing
