I grew up in Minnesota, USA. I have been doing genealogy for many family members and friends for several years. I've learned to handle a computer and researching mostly on my own. My findings are recorded in Word documents before they ever reach WikiTree.
If I'm asked for a merge, please be patience. I will study your work first to check out the facts and sources before I do a merge.
I do make mistakes, everyone does. Let me know if you see a mistake on any of my work and I promise to correct as soon as I can. I don't like mistakes, especially mine own.
How I use sources
I use ancestry.com, FamilySearch.org, the National Danish Archives (free) and the Norwegian National Archives (free) and many other sites. With ancestry or familysearch, I always open the document and read it for myself. Never trust ancestry hints without researching them. When I save an ancestry hint, I mark it as a theory, until I have time to verify it or delete it. I try to only use verified facts on my WikiTree pages.
All Danish or Norwegian facts have been verified by the Danish or Norway's Archives, online (free).
Most of my personal information for my families are now considered by me to be family archives. Each Family Archive is a box full of documents such as letters, memorial cards, newspaper clippings, wedding and graduation announcements, and many other documents to support my personal information.
I do not use DNA. It can be helpful, but it can be very dangerous in the hands of government, insurance companies or hackers. I have seen first-hand the mistakes DNA can make on a person's ethnic background.

Glad you joined Wikitree! And thank you so much for helping me track down the DNA match with Carol that we found on Ancestry.com. Amazing what science can do...
