Marie Lord was born about 1684 in Port Royal, Acadie, Nouvelle-France, daughter of Julien (Lord) Lord dit Lamontagne (abt. 1652–bef. 1724) and Anne Charlotte Girouard (abt. 1660–1742).[1]
In 1686, at Port Royal, Marie, aged 1, was living with her parents, Julien LORD, aged 33 and Charlotte [recte Anne Charlotte] GIROUARD, aged 26, and three brothers: Alexandre, aged 10, Jacques, aged 8, and Pierre, aged 5. They were all living on the farm of her grandparents, Francois GIROUARD, aged 70, and Jeanne AUCOIN, aged 55.[2]
She was also enumerated in the censuses of Port-Royal in1693,[3] 1698,[4] 1700,[5] and 1701,[6] She was also counted in a 1758 census in Salisbury, Massachusetts, under the name of Mole Gould, age 75, and again in 1760 at age 78.[1]
