Hi all, I've already traced my McIntyre ancestor back to Mungo McIntyre b: 1678 d: 1758. As both him and his wife died in USA at Feeding Hills, Hampden, Massachusetts, I'm at a dead end with regards to anything later than that. Stevenson is my mothers maiden name and was from New Cumnock in Ayrshire

I see that you have had your DNA tested, congratulations! Getting Started with DNA will tell you more about how DNA kits are used on WikiTree.
DNA at WikiTree provides a visual way for you to find others who have tested and have the potential of having common ancestors. To get the best results, you need to continue adding sourced profiles for your ancestors until you can connect to existing profiles in WikiTree. If you have exhausted what you know on one line, it can sometimes help to add what you know on another line. The more branches you are able to add the greater the likelihood of finding potential cousins to match with. 24 hours after you connect to an existing profile, your test will have populated on the profiles of your ancestors and their descendants, where others with potential matches may also appear. The process of identifying which branch elements of DNA relate to will better enable you to find matches which relate to the particular branches you are researching.
