working hard to find a tiny tidbit information, placing it in your family tree and selecting search does amazing things

like adding a single earlier generation to my McCutchen family limb linked me all the way back to 153BC I'm not 100% sure of the accuracy, that's a trip for tomorrow ... for now, at least, I'm related to Merlin; and I thought he was a Scotch fable; turns out he may be a legend

HI

At Wikitree, we try whenever possible to confirm anything in a published genealogy with original sources. However, your question is not something that I have actually given a great deal of thought to as proving descent from royalty has not been an interest of mine. I would suggest that you pose your question in our G2G forums and you may end up with a lively discussion.

in your opinion, after all the mad scrambling in the past to link everyone to Kings and Queens; just how reliable are links beyond more than a couple hundred years?

this back-and-forth tracing is tough work; and one answer always seems to lead to another question
