Although I can find my ancestors and relatives in the many family tree sites, I know little about any one of them- and that seems the interesting part of this exploring. I have a few documents left by relatives, and some anecdotes, some birth places and dates. I do like to use google maps to see the houses ancestors lived in.

Biography
Born in Napier Maternity Hospital, After a few weeks there moved to 17 Guys Hill Road in Napier. A few months later moved to a new state house in Kelvin Grove-all the houses in Kelvin Grove appear to have been demolished. At five years old started at Henry Hill Primary School in Napier. Then around 1967 moved to 36 Magdalen Crescent, then in 1973 moved to "The Grange" -address 16 Lincoln Road. Moved to Auckland in 1978, then back to The Grange. !980 moved to Palmerston North. Married to Gael in February 1985. Gael & I backpacked around the world 1986/87. When we were in England we visited my Aunties and cousin-& I became interested in where I come from from then on. When we returned we bought a house in Kimbolton and our first child Rose was born there in 1988.

I love your enthusiasm. You don't need to merge your relatives if you find them on WikiTree; it is a one-world tree. WikiTree is a collaborative site, so we all work together. If you find a relative, they are there and you can verify the info you have with the data in the profile. Be careful here - read about communicating before changing anything, and be sure you review the source formats and guidelines for entering the biography.
There is a learning curve for the wiki mark-up and different levels of privacy. You can always leave questions or comments about a profile on that page.
If you want to upload a gedcom for GedCompare, this page will list your gedcom family members and give you a match if they already have WikiTree profiles. Review the report carefully, which will save a lot of time and frustration.
