Thankyou for the information regarding John White. I am a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and although my husband can join based on marriage, he prefers to have me work on his White genealogy through his paternal grandmother, Pauline (White) Gorman. It sounds as if he may need to get some DNA work done, but since I am not a member of Ancestry, I will have to find another route. Thanks for the point of contact for the researcher of this John White. I will reach out to her. jan

Regarding Mary Wyatt Gilbert, I adopted some profiles that were supposedly in my direct ancestry, but in actuality, I was a 6th niece of the Gilbert ancestors. I added some information that I found and then removed myself as profile manager. I have some more that I will eventually remove, but will do a little research for them, first, as I prefer something of interest in every bio I edit.

Hi Elizabeth, I presume you are referring to Henry Gilbert (Gilbert-3727). Unfortunately, I have no information on him other than what is already on his profile. I will however ask my sister, who was my sourcerer in this instance, to ascertain if she has any additional information. Cheers, Peter

Hi Elizabeth,

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!

Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working within the projects which coordinate them is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.

Use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find one which best fits your research focus, whether time period, location, or special event. Read the goals and tasks of the project and join if it is a good fit.

Let me know if you have trouble finding projects which fit your focus. Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page.

Hi again!

I’m glad you found us. I just confirmed you as a member (once you sign the Honor Code, you’ll be a full member – aka a Wiki Genealogist). An important aspect of WikiTree is providing sources for information (even if it’s just “Aunt Louisa told me in 1984...”) – my profile page has a link to Sources Resources, where I’ve tried to provide an overview of source information.

Give G2G or me a holler if you get stuck on anything, and thank you for joining our collaborative tree. Remember that our mission is to build a global tree with just one profile per person, so please look for duplicates before adding a profile.

Enjoy!

Welcome Elizabeth!

As a guest, you can search for your ancestors and participate in G2G, where you can ask questions that you didn't find an answer to in WikiTree Help (see the “Help” drop-down menu at upper right–for additional links that may be of use, please click my name and check out the links I list under my "Greeter" section–especially the Sources links and the links to my fellow greeters Debby and Maggie, who also have helpful information on their profile pages).

If you would like to join WikiTree, and help with our mission of one tree, please read the Honor Code, volunteer, and post a comment on your profile page; we'll be glad to add you to the WikiTree community.

Happy Hunting!
