Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working within the projects which coordinate them is essential.
Use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find one which best fits your research focus, whether time period, location, or topic. Read the goals and tasks of the project and join if it is a good fit.
Add the project tag to your Following list to be kept up to date on any activity that occurs for that project.
Can't find what you're looking for? Let me know, and I can make some suggestions! :-)
Thanks for all your work on WikiTree. I noticed that you recently created a profile for a pre-1700 ancestor.
The Pre-1700 Profile Help page was revised yesterday to include information about reliable sources and why they are required. That change may have happened after you took the Quiz. Would you take a minute and review that section before adding any more pre-1700 profiles please.
We're looking for reliable sources to add to the various lists. Does the Cheyne family website offer suggestions for resources which would be good additions?
Hi Rod, Thank you for volunteering to help grow our World Wide Family Tree.
You are now a member of the WikiTree Community. Please note we are trying to build one Collaborative Tree which means one profile per person. It is important to ensure no duplicates are entered as you add any Profiles to WikiTree.
Everything on WikiTree is a collaborative work in progress so dont forget to read and sign our Honor Code. This is what keeps WikiTree a friendly and helpful community. We have many friendly members, feel free to ask if you have any questions.
Would you like to join Wikitree or just look around the site which you are more than welcome to do if you would like to join just post another comment here telling us so and one of the greeters will be happy to add you as member of the wikitree community
