Martin Evé LeBlanc was the son of Toussaint LeBlanc and Dorothée Boudreau.[1]
He was born on August 20, 1878[1] in Tusket Wedge, Nova Scotia[2] [3], and was baptised August 25, 1878 at St. Michael's[1] in Tusket Wedge.[3]
He grew up in the family home located on the southern stretch of the Main Road in Tusket Wedge.[2] [3]
In his younger days, he was an avid duck hunter.[4]
There is a story regarding Evé and his brother, Henri, being nearly downed after harpooning a tuna in the Tusket River. A wooden keg attached to the line intended to slow the fish down became jammed in the bow of their boat, and ended up pulling the boat under.[4]
Regaredless of that mishap, Martin later became a Sea Captain known as one of the premier Tuna Fishermen in Wedgeport during the heyday of the Tuna Tournaments of the 1930's, and hosted several celebrities on tuna fishing excursions including President Franklin Delano Rooservelt.[4]
He married Rose Albertine LeBlanc, the daughter of Maximin LeBlanc and Angeliqued'Eon, on August 30, 1904[5] at St. Michael's[1] in Tusket Wedge.[3]
The couple settled into the home he had built across the road from that of his father's[2] where they raised their family of 6 children[1]:

1. Joseph Leonard born June 1905[6]
2. Henri Edouard born January 20, 1907[7]
3. Marie Rose Anna born October 5, 1908[8]
4. Martin Alphonse born April 6, 1913[9]
5. Louise Emildred born April 13, 1918[1]
6. Marie Agnes born January 6, 1921[1]

Martin Eve died September 26, 1978[1] at Yarmouth Regional Hospital in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia at the age of 100.[10], and his funeral was held October 2, 1978 at St. Michael's[1] in Wedgeport, Nova Scotia.[3]
He was buried at St. Michael's Cemetery: Section A, Row 12, Marker 161.[11]
