John Baptist Andrus, son of Benjamin and Marie (Hargrave) Andrus was born about 1768 in Carolina.[1]
On 26 Aug. 1793, age 25 and single, he was baptized and embraced the Catholic religion, it was recorded as: "renuncio la secta de los Presbyterianos y abrazo la Religion Catholica." The next day he married Anastasie Savios, daughter of Jean Savois and Marguerite Boutin, at St. Landry Parish, Louisiana. The baptism and marriage were recorded at St. Landry Catholic Church, Opelousas, Louisiana, Opelousas, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana.[1]
Jean died. His succession was inventoried on 27 April 1804.[1]
