ANNE GILSON born 25 July 1722 in Groton, Middlesex Co., Massachusetts; died in 1788 in Chester, Windsor Co., Vermont; married first 25 March, 1741 to Thomas PATCH - six children; married second to Lt. Jonathan TARBELL who was born in l726 in Lynn, Essex Co., MA and died 8 April, 1788, buried in the Riverside Cemetery, near the center of Chester, Windsor Co., Vermont. He had married first to Mary COOK in l747 and had two sons, John b. 1753 and Ruben b. 1755. Following Mary’s death, Jonathan moved to Dunstable, now Nashua, New Hampshire, where he married Anna (GILSON) PATCH. In 1765 they were living in Westminster, Windham Co., VT and, shown by deeds, he was in Rockingham, VT in 1769 from whence he moved to Chester, Windsor Co., VT. In 1775 Jonathan was chosen Lieutenant of the Chester Militia Company, commanded by Cpt. George Earl and served in that capacity throughout the Revolutionary War. He founded a Presbyterian church in his home.
