Hi again Tari,

At WikiTree, we aim to protect the privacy of all living individuals for their protection and in line with data protection legislation.

WikiTree has excellent privacy controls, but that won’t protect you and your family if you publish your personal information or the information of your living family members in your biography, Communications section, or on the profiles of others.

Since WikiTree is a public website, I suggest you remove references to dates, locations, or living individuals from your communication section.

For further information, see Privacy and Data Protection. For WikiTree’s Privacy Policy, see Privacy Policy.

Many thanks

Hello Tari,

Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles! It’s very important to read and understand the Help:Pre-1700 Profiles page. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines in the certification quiz.

Primary sources should always be added to pre-1700 profiles at the time they are created. If you don't have a source for a pre-1700 profile, it would be best to ask for help in the G2G forum before creating the profile.

Hi Tarilyn,

We are so happy you decided to upgrade to the Family Member level.

Please visit our tutorial pages to learn how to use WikiTree: How To Use WikiTree. They will save you time, energy, and frustration as you add your family profiles.

Exploring the site is the best way to learn. One way to do that is to check out the drop-down menus on the top right side of your profile page. Finding a known ancestor and collaborating with the profile manager is another great way to start.

Questions? You can always use the G2G link in the Help Menu to find answers.

This html fornatting (correct is that the use?) I can't figure out. I have some information and I don't have time to do the particular individuals on this. However, my family is not united in the immediate sector and I may be the only one who wants to do this. Maybe they already know what I just uncovered? I don't know but my Nana (my mother's mother) was Ruth Elisabeth Blair Miller from Massachusetts and passed in Florida she is a 12 degree transcended from Louis VIII and I am intrigued to say the least. Also, on my Father's side his father is John Howell Harnish and I made a mistake and put Howard Johnathan Harnish but I am almost positive the headstone says that but not the obituary? It's peculiar. But my father gave my adopted father rights when I was 12 and passed at 13. So I know only what I know in my heart. But further research yesterday showed linking back to 1374. I joked my whole life I was 600 n something years old and 2022-1374=648.... It's the utmost u easiest of feelings. I have an entire document I have put all factual information with citations for backing up so I can't be called a liar or crazy. What do I do? It's too much for me. I need help. Please?
Hi Tari,

Wikitree is very different from most sites and takes a while to get used to, do try to follow the different guidence in the help page o become more familiar with the way the site works.

In regards to your request for help, you shoud ask the wider community in the G2G forum, but be a bot more specific in your question as to what help you need to get you started.

You mention adoption so check out the https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Adoption_Angels:_Resources_for_Adoptees and the https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Adoptees:_How_to_Set_Up_Your_Profile pages.

Hope this helps

All the best Janet
