Dear Carol,

best wishes from Germany from your cousin. Got a ancestry-test so far and hope, our connection will be verified by DNA. Because our connection ist so far (8th uncle; 7th. half-Uncle), it would be nearly a wonder ;-)

Carol,

I do not have a lot of information about the Allen side of my ancestry. My list stops at the first name of my grandfather's mother (Vera) and her surname was something else. I am registered on 23&me as well as GEDmatch.com. It may help trace any possible relation. Thank you - Julie

Thanks for your note on the 17 June, Carol ANN. MyHeritage has a help page with instructions on exporting a GEDCOM file. You will be able to upload the GEDCOM file to WikiTree using the information in the links that Vicky gave you.

Probably the best way to find help with your Keeling & Lucatorto families is the G2G forum Genealogy Help category. There you could create a new post to introduce yourself and ask for help with the mystery. Down at the bottom where it says "Surnames and project tags," add the tags like you did on your profile.

Hello Carol Ann! Thanks for your message. If you can generate a GEDCOM (.ged) file from your MyHeritage tree, then you can upload it for comparison on WikiTree. Here are a couple of pages which explain that process:

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:GEDCOM

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:GEDCOMpare

I see you've already started building your family tree, which is great! Let us know if you have any further questions.

Kind regards,

Vicky Majewski

Hi there! My name is Vicky (Freeth) Majewski and I am a WikiTree Mentor.

This is just a courtesy e-mail to see how things are going. Are you enjoying WikiTree so far? Any questions? Any issues?

Feel free to contact me via my profile page. I am happy to help!

Thanks for your note, Carol ANN, and sorry it's taken so long for me to get here. Looks like you figured out what was causing the problem with linking to your Dad.

Because I love finding the records (I'm nutty that way *grin*), I used the RecordsSearch tool to find the marriage record for your Keeling/Allen grandparents at FamilySearch.

"Pennsylvania, County Marriages, 1885-1950", database with images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:VF3H-JVL : 24 September 2017), George Keeling and Mary Allen, 1912; image viewed at Film # 004460737 "Marriage license, no. 20727-21208 1911-1912" > images 1414-1419 of 2131.

There's an image attached, but be sure to use the arrow to look at all six images I cited. They include proof of both of their fathers!

Carol.

Thanks a lot for your message re: John E Keeling.

I think we're a different line of Keelings though. We're all Warwickshire/Staffordshire, England based.

Sorry about that!

Hi Carol ANN,

You've been a member of WikiTree for about a week so I am checking in to see how it is going. The New Member How-Tos are for you to work at your own pace. If you had time to look, were they helpful?

I'm here to help with questions about how WikiTree works. Just click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page. I'll get back to you by the end of the day.

Debi ~ WikiGreeter

PS If you get a "Page Not Found" error when clicking WikiTree email links, you can often find a working version in the public comments on your profile.

PPS Did you discover that the tags on your profile are clickable links to a page of other people who have that tag? You can add more, up to 20 total.

P. S. I see that you are following the Ascolillo, Keeling, and Lucatorto surname tags. By clicking on the tags you follow, you can see which other members share your interests. You may find a long-lost cousin!

Hi Carol!

Were you wanting to add your info to our tree? If so, you're more than welcome to "volunteer" to become a full member!

Just head to your Navigation Home Page (it's the first one that pops up when you log in) and add tags indicating your genealogical interests. You can use the surnames you've listed below, if you like!

If you run into any trouble, let me know! Otherwise, you're more than welcome to look around and remain a Guest as long as you like.  :)
