Elisabeth (Pothier) LeBlanc is a descendant of an Acadian
Elizabeth Pother was the daughter of Marc Pothier and Marie Rose Surette.[1]
She was born March 19, 1853[2] in Tusket Wedge, Nova Scotia,[3][4] and was baptised that same day. The baptism was registered at St. Michael's[2] in Tusket Wedge.[3]
She married Francois Leger LeBlanc, the son of Joseph LeBlanc and Francoise Pothier, on June 9, 1874 at St. Michael's.[5]
The couple settled into the home her husband had built at 84 Surette Cross Rd in Tusket Wedge[6][3] where they raised their family of 7 children[7]
Elizabeth died May 8, 1888[2] in Tusket Wedge,[6] and her funeral was held May 9, 1888 at St. Michael's.[2]
After her death the children were taken in by various families as her husband was away at sea most of the time.[12]
