Biography

Margaret was referred to as deceased wife Margaret, in the will of her husband, Jeremiah Meacham, dated 1694.^[1] Her birth of 1620 is estimated from the birth of their second son Isaac about 1643. Her birthplace is probably England since there were no settlers in New England prior to the Mayflower in 1620.

There are many FamilySearch trees where Margaret is listed as being born in Somerset England, perhaps to John Brown and Dorothy Beauchamp ( or perhaps Dorothy Kent).^{[citation needed]}

Online trees claim that Jeremiah Meacham married Margaret Prisse in 1640 in Salem, Essex, Massachusetts. We seek a better source for this marriage and her maiden name.

There are two MyHeritage sources referenced here. However, since Ambrose was born in 1567 and Urula in 1569, it seems very unlikely that our Margaret is their daughter. Ursula would have been around 50 years old.
