Marguerite Soucy is a descendant of an Acadian

Marguerite was born in 1796, the daughter of Joseph Soucy and Marie Thibodeau. Marguerite married when she was 23, the 4th wife of Étienne Michaud, who was 66 at the time. They had at least six children, the last born when Étienne was 86.

Marguerite was 44 when Étienne died. After his death, she moved to Maine, as did some of her children. An 1870 US Census shows her as a domestic servant living and working in an ecclesiastical setting. Margurite died in 1879 at 82 years old
