Marie Luce Thibodeau was born around 1758 in Acadie. She was the daughter of Jean-Baptiste Thibodeau and Françoise Babin.[citation needed]

She married Joseph François Soucy in 1778.[1]

Translation of the first part of the marriage record: "The 1778, the 24th of the month of August, after having published three banns of marriage in the sermon of the masses of this church during three consecutive Sundays between Joseph Soussie, son of Joseph François and of Marie Rose Dumont, his father and mother, inhabitants of the Riviere-Ouelle, on one side, and of Marie Tibeaudeau, daughter of Jean Bapt.
