I am currently researching, to produce a history of my Spooner lineage, through William Spooner, of Acushnet, to as far back as I can trace it. While routine genealogical data is necessary to the research, I am especially interested in the details of life, for example; how did the Pilgrim, John Spooner, of Colchester, England, get involved with the Separatist congregation in Scroovy, England? The questions are endless.

P.S. To find reliable sources for your profiles, go to the Family Tree & Tools tab; select Genealogy Research and scroll down near the bottom of that list and select Research with RootsSearch. There are over 20 websites to access from there.

Quite frankly, I hate this site. Yeah there's great information, and I understand the need for rules, but there are limits. At this point I just want to delete my account.

Hi P

Don't know if Cheryl responded to you. I am glad you have persevered. I hope your frustration with the rules has lessened.

Hi Pamela and thank you for upgrading, 😊

I am very pleased to welcome you to the WikiTree family, your contributions will go a long way to joining the world together.

It is best to start with the New Member How-To pages, they will save you a lot of time and frustration.

Thank you for adding your DNA to WikiTree. Getting the Best from DNA will tell you more about how DNA kits are used on WikiTree.

I am here to answer any question you have, no matter how trivial you may think it is. There is no such thing as a silly question. Please add as much information as you can, it all helps to turn a “name” back into a person. I hope you enjoy the site as much as I do.

Happy tree climbing

Dear Pam,

Thanks for your note. I took a DNA test, through My Heritage, years ago. When the company was sold, I lost access to the findings. I have a kit number and the raw data, that was mailed to me. Since the test was under my legal name, as opposed to my birth name, is there a real point to saying I've taken a test on Wikitree? Pamela

Hi there,

Pam is not on duty now but I will try and help.

I think you should go ahead and add you test, if you can. This page on adding your test will show you the steps.

If this does not work, post your question to the G2G forum. Someone there may have run into this issue and have an answer.

Let me know if you have any other questions.
