The maiden name of Catherine, wife of Lewis DeMoss is nowhere recorded. That she is a Catherine Callot or Callet from France is part of discredited information claiming that her husband Lewis Demoss was the son of Louis Dumas and Marthe Duval de Rocoulle. See Lewis Demos profile for further information.
"Lewis Demoss son of Lewis Demoss & Catherine his wife, was born the 1st of Nov'r in the y'r of our Lord 1715." [1]
Death
Catherine, the wife of Louis Demoss, was probably still alive on 8 February 1748/49, based on the following:
Frederick County, Virginia Court Order Book 3 (1748-1751), p. 25,
8 February 1748/49,
James Demoss by Catherine Demoss, his Mother and next friend vs. Henry Enochs On Petition, the Sheriff having returned on the Sumons not Executed by reason of the great freshes at the Plaintiffs motion it is ordered that an alias sumons issue against him returnable to next Court.

I had encountered the stories of the French origins of Catherine and Louis previously, but per other researchers this information is unproven and there are no primary sources provided for the surname Callot. I believe her LNAB should be changed to "Unknown". If Callot/Callet are kept they should be left as uncertain other last names, although perhaps that should be relegated to the research notes in the absence of any hard evidence.
There is no marriage record for Lewis Demoss in the St. John's/St. George's Register or a Callet. The only DeMoss is the 1 entry on page 59 that gives the 4 sons of Lewis Demoss and wife Catherine. [1] Sorry, wish I could help.
Callet-2 and Callot-1 appear to represent the same person because: Callot is the older spelling of Catherine's name, per my research. I believe it was changed to Callet in America, possibly due to a transcription error.
