I am interested in my family Tree, but I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing. I have most of my Father's line, but I can't seem to find my Mother's side. I hit a brick wall after I put her parents in.

I would really like to get some help on it. Her maiden name is Mitchell. Like I said, after I entered her Father's name, that was as far as I could go. Her Father's name was Mose Byrd Mitchell and her Mother's name was Bertha Shoulders.

Jennifer, you are right. They are one & the same and they need to be merged. Thank you for catching it. I don't have any idea how to go about merging them, so maybe you can help out.

I just realized I had a duplicate profile for John Willis. I think it was confusing because both Katherine and Martha Patsy are my 4thggmother and it was one of the beginning profiles I made?

Hi Randy, We are indeed cousins and I'm evidently also cousins with almost everyone in the comments section of your profile. Seems like the longer anyone is involved with genealogy, the smaller the world becomes. See ya around cuz. Mark

Hiya 12th Cousin (smile)

Take the gedmatch down to 1 and see how many chromosomes are listed. I know, not enough for a 'match' but fun to see.

The Gedmatch kit number you entered is not correct. I tried doing a compare against it on GedMatch.com and was told that it was not found. Please check it when you get a chance.

JEAN WILLIS PIERCE MC CALEB, AND AS AN ADDED ITEM, JACK HAMILTON WILLIS, SON OF JAVIS DIED FRI IN CHICAGO. THIS BUNCH IS DISAPPEARING FAST, JUST THOUGHT YOU MIGHT LIKE TO KNOW. THEY WERE A LARGE FAMILY AND 4 OF THE BOYS HAVE PASSED ON AND ONE OF THE GIRLS. jOHNNY WILLIS IS THE OLDEST, JO ANN HARKINS, BEATRICE WIDEMAN AND DIANE WILLIS ARE THE ONES LEFT IN THAT GROUP. jUST SO SAD, WE WERE CLOSE AS CHILDREN AND OF COURSE EVERYONE HAD TO GROW UP AND WE JUST KIND OF LOST TOUCH WITH THE ONES THAT MOVED AWAY. BUT THE 3 GIRLS ARE STILL HERE AND WE ALL LIVE WITHIN 20 MILES OF EACH OTHER, SO THAT IS NICE. HOPE EVERYTHING IS GOING WELL WITH YOU AND YOURS. JEAN

I'm looking for a connection to our family history. Most of my family was born in S.C., until they moved to Fayette County, Ala.

My Great Grandfather, James Franklin Willis was a Baptist Minister at Landmark Baptist Church in Mt. Lebannon, Al. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
