Did she really use her mother's maiden name as a middle name?

YES! Standard at the time

L S - Your source (very interesting, btw) says "surnames were used as first names.... Naming traditions vary from country to country, but in England, having one or more middle names became increasingly common from the 19th century."

I'd like to see actual documents from the era that use her middle name. We typically do not see middle names in colonial America.

Bolling-1119 and Bolling-14 appear to represent the same person because: Accidental duplicate created; please retain data (in fields and in narrative) from Bolling-14 only. Thank you.

Bolling-788 and Bolling-14 appear to represent the same person because: Same person. This family line was already documented in WikiTree.

Bolling-766 and Bolling-14 appear to represent the same person because: not much data on -766 profile, but maybe this is who they meant it to be

Bolling-40 and Bolling-14 appear to represent the same person because: with all the clean up done....these can now be merged

I am removing all the references to the Clack family as it has been proven false....and we have waited since 2014...

It also had her married at the age of 12 to James Clark This may have happened because of merges. Can I fix this back to the other JANE as being James Clark's wife ?

I agree, Brent, because the Jane Bolling, daughter of the parents, Robert and Anne Stith Bolling, is marked as "died young". I put the sources that I could find on her father's profile.

UNKNOWN-45510 and Bolling-40 do not represent the same person because: I have not been able to verify that "Jane Bolling" existed, and it appears that Jane Rolfe had just one child (John Bolling) during her brief marriage to Robert Bolling before her death. Too, she would have been only 12 when married and birthed daughter Jane Clack.
