My name is Jacqueline and I am the Co-Leader of the One Name Studies Project on WikiTree.

I'm reaching out to you today to update you on the requirements for being a Name Study coordinator.

The Project page outlines that:

Taking on the role of an ONS Coordinator is a serious commitment. In order to become an ONS Coordinator, you must have:

  • signed the Honor Code;
  • been on WikiTree for at least 90 days; and

This commitment also requires collaboration requests and inquiries related to your Name Study to be responded to in a reasonable period, and that you accept the following principles in relation to your Name Study:

  • that it has a global scope;
  • that it includes research within countries or time periods *where sources of genealogical data are readily available; and

that it will research and store all data in WikiTree as the core genealogical dataset.

Of course, you can always work at your own pace, and with your own priorities - but you should never prohibit members from providing their own research as well.

If this is something you would like to continue doing, I can make an exception regarding your contributions. If it is not, I will add you as a study member instead.

Please let me know how you wish to proceed. If I don't hear back from you by 30 April 2024, I will assume you are not interested in continuing as a coordinator and your badge will be removed.

You can find the Project page here: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Project:One_Name_Studies

I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely, Jacqueline ONS Project Co-Leader

Hi!

This is Chris from the Italy Project. As part of the annual project check-in, can you fill in the project survey? This will let us know that you are still interested in the project and which teams you'd like to participate in.

Thanks and have a great day!

Hi,

I sent you a message a while ago on behalf of the Germany Project and have yet to hear back from you. I hope you are well.

If I don’t hear from you in the next week or so I’ll assume you no longer wish to be in the project and go ahead and remove you. You would, of course, be most welcome to rejoin at any time via the G2G sign-up post.

Best wishes,

Kylie :-)

Hi,

On behalf of the Germany Project, I am currently undergoing our member check-in's and wanted to verify that you are still interested in being a member of the project. Are you currently assigned to or working with one of our Sub-projects or Teams? We have many new teams so have a look on the Germany project page for the full list. I would be delighted to help you get setup in one or more of our collaborative teams!

We use Google groups for project collaboration, so if you are not yet setup, please submit a join request and we will get that approved as quickly as possible. We also ask that you check your follwed tags to make sure you are following the correct project tag (GERMANY) so you don't miss any disucssions in G2G.

We really appreciate your contributions on WikiTree, and thank you for all your hard work. If you have any questions please ask. I would also love to hear any feedback you may have for the project!

Please respond by private message. I look forward to hearing from you soon!

Ciao! I created a thread for the Italy project teams here: https://www.wikitree.com/g2g/1091444/italy-project-teams-assemble

I hope you check it out. If I have you down for a team, let me know. If you still haven't decided, feel free to comment. Thanks!

Ciao! This is just a general check-in for members of the Italy project. I am checking to see who is still interested in being a member of the project as we go through some much needed restructuring. I was also wondering what teams you would like to be on. We’ve created teams for each part of Italy. North, South, Islands etc. They will be explained further in an upcoming g2g post. Stay tuned. For now, please let me know if you are still interested in the project and if you’d like to be a member of a team.

York-2684 follow up - I now have a copy of the SS# application which she does list her father as George Green York, however, the bible lists him as Richard G. York. Death certificate say James York. SS# application lists mother as Eavaline Elizabeth Smith.
Thank you for your comment on York-2684, I'm trying to parse things out & run down documents. The Elizabeth Evelynn (Smith) York connection is a tough nut. Nannies father is listed as Richard G. York which I just got confirmation of from the family bible but I'd like more than that.
Hi

Wish you a Happy New Year. May 2018 bring you all you need to be happy.

Congratulation for adding your contributions in December. Whatever the quantity of your contributions, they all count. As we always say "Quality is better than quantity" to make a great family tree.

Thank you for being a Wikitreer,

Guy Constantineau - Wikitree leader

Thank you for the improvements you made on Ezekiel Babcock.

I did remove the color coding as it makes the biography more difficult to read.

I also made some adjustments to the content listing for sources and well as adding a few more.

Again, Thank you for your contributions!

G., good for you for working out all that Latin! If you wanted to use the Americanized version it might be

{{ Languages | en | cs-0 | it-0 }}

if you wanted to be clear that you don't actually speak those languages.

G., do you speak any Czech or other languages? Would you check out our languages template and add it to your biography? For example you might add

{{ Languages | en | cs-3 }}

to the top of your biography if you speak English natively and advanced Czech, or you could use it-4 to specify near-native Italian or ru-1 for basic Russian, etc. It really helps to know who speaks all the different languages used on WikiTree!

Karen

p.s. I need to add the Czech categories and user templates this morning, so feel free to add the template even though it will look broken until I add the categories. And let me know if another language is missing!
